SPIRULINA

or

BLUE GREEN ALGAE

Spirulina Powder Organic Natures Super Food Nutrient Rich Blue Green Algae Supplement

Mother Natures' Super Food. This nutrient packed powder is composed of a collection of single celled, spiral shaped organisms with an incredible ability to survive in a wide range of environments. Spirulina cell walls are also not made up of cellulose as in other algae, but are in fact composed of complex sugars and proteins.

A power packed supplement, it is often added to fruit smoothies or taken in capsule form. Used as a pre-meal supplement, it is believed to aid with nutrient absorption. It is also popular among athletes and body builders as it can help improve stamina and strength .Modern herbalists sometimes prescribe Spirulina to pregnant women because of its wide array of nutrients. Some studies, including those done by the FDA, have indicated that it can help lower blood glucose and lower harmful fat levels, therefore it may be useful in treating diabetes.

Spirulina has a slightly salty, freshwater aroma and taste and may take some getting used to. Because of this, some prefer to have their Spirulina encapsulated for easy ingestion.

 VALERIAN ROOT

AKA Valerian, Tobacco Root, Garden Heliotrope, All-Heal

Valerian Root Organic Dried 2 oz

Valerian Root, also known as Valerian, Tobacco Root, Garden Heliotrope, and All-heal, is widely used as a sleep aid and sedative, anti-anxiety potion and even as a muscle relaxant. While effects are often seen immediately, it sometimes takes a few weeks to work its most effective magic. Some herbalists also recommend valerian for treating digestive issues from stomach pain to irritable bowel syndrome.

Valerian is often combined with other herbs traditionally known to promote sleep such as st. johns wort, lemon balm, hops, passionflower, chamomile, and lavender. The advantage of valerian over tranquilizers such as Valium and Xanax is that it reduces sleep latency, the time required to fall asleep, without a period of bedtime drowsiness and without creating a hangover or grogginess the next morning. Valerian has greatest effect in treating chronic insomnia, rather than short-term sleeplessness.

In tea, valerian tastes sweet and spicy if somewhat bitter, but the aroma calls for combining with more pleasant smelling herbs. To prepare tea, steep in hot steamy, but NOT boiling water, as boiling may drive off the lighter oils. As a sleep aid, drink a cup or two about 30 minutes to two hours before bedtime.

Dosage for the treatment of insomnia ranges from 300 to 600 mg of liquid root extract, or the equivalent of 2 to 3 g of dried valerian root. Lower dosages are typically used for the treatment of nervous tension and when the root is used in combination with other supplements.

Anyone who has experienced the unpleasant "dirty socks" odor of the roots would be surprised to learn that the pink or white flowers are actually quite fragrant. Because of its bitter, somewhat unpleasant taste and odor, Valerian is commonly taken as a dietary supplement in capsule form. If you would like your valerian root encapsulated, I can do that for you at a very nominal cost. (just search for *encapsulate your herbs*) in our shop.

Valerian offers:

Acetic acid
ascorbic acid
beta-ionone
calcium
caffeic acid
magnesium
manganese
quercitin
valeric acid

Valerian root is not believed to carry a risk of dependency, however,If you use valerian for several months and suddenly stop using it, although rare, you should watch for withdrawal symptoms such as headache, insomnia, racing heart, and general grouchiness. Instead, reduce dosage of a period of about a week.

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) gives valerian a class 1 safety rating, indicating that it is a safe herb with a wide dosage range. Some people, however, experience adverse reactions to valerian. Rather than feeling the calming or sleep-inducing effects, they suddenly feel nervous, anxious and restless after taking the herb and may experience heart palpitations.

Valerian root should not be taken if you are pregnant or nursing, if you suffer from liver disease, or if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Valerian root has the potential to interact with other medications, and may not be recommended in those cases.

Medication Interactions With Valerian Root:

Valerian root may cause drowsiness if taken with prescription medications such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), benzodiazepines, narcotics such as codeine, barbituates such as phenobarbitol, and over-the-counter cold and sleep remedies.

The supplement may also interfere with the effectiveness of medications broken down in the liver, such as allergy medications, cholesterol medications, antifungal medications and cancer medications.

Side effects of valerian root are rare but may include headache, upset stomach, daytime drowsiness, and dizziness.
Risks Associated with Valerian Root:

Unlike prescription sleep medications, the supplement should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional, and caution should be exercised if taking the supplement over an extended period of time. Do not operate heavy or dangerous machinery until you know how the supplement affects you.

Other supplements for social anxiety disorder:

Chamomile
Kava Kava
Passion Flower
Rhodiola Rosea
St. John's Wort
Winter Cherry

Crystal Healing ~ Citrine

Citrine amplifies positive energy and dispels negativity in all areas of life. A Citrine is one of my favorite stones to carry.  Absolutely stunning, an natural uncut, amber to caramel Citrine crystal cluster with matrix brings about a warm, comfy feeling that just intensifies throughout the day.  Clear crystal points surround a myriad of warm beautiful citrine points. The matrix is very often as beautiful as the cluster itself.

So very powerful in your personal space, attracting the positive and dispelling the negative all around you. This will draw oohs and aahs and questions of all sorts! I once had a few photos of Citrine clusters posted on my personal Facebook page and I had people ask me if they were biscuits or slices of cake, among many other things!

Crystalline Quartz in shades of yellow, gold and various shades of oranges, ranging from caramel, sienna and amber is referred to as Citrine. Its name comes from the French word for lemon, "citron". I find a beautiful deep amber or caramel shade to be very pleasing to the eye. It imparts a warm, cozy, calming effect when near. Also known as the Merchant's Stone, Citrine is wonderful tucked away in a place of business, perhaps in your cash drawer, or worn to manifest prosperity and luck. Citrine promotes prosperity through sharing, just as in the old saying, "Give and You Shall Receive".

Citrine crystal clusters are used to keep the home clear of negativity and conducive to positive energy. Citrine will dispel negativity in any arena. Unlike so many other crystals, It will not take up negative vibrations and so is a stone of omnipresent positivity, never needing to be cleansed of negative vibrations, as it has not absorbed any. Placing Citrine clusters or points in a window that receives sun most of the day makes them especially suitable for healing work. Citrine is a calming amber quartz, great for meditation and working in the emotional, spiritual, and physical to bring calm, clarity and confidence. It can help heal personal losses and grief and has a gently sedative energy that promotes peacefulness and contentment, emotional stability and inner strength. Citrine can help ease the body and mind of addictive and compulsive behaviors such as alcohol, drugs and smoking.

An excellent all-purpose stone that can increase spirituality and decrease self-doubt and negative feelings such as depression and anxiety, Citrine is excellent for meditation and lucid dreaming, It can open channels to telepathy, past life regression, clairvoyance and communication. Put a citrine under your pillow to assist in your dreamwork.   Before sleep, before meditation, before any spiritual endeavor, use it to clear the self and surroundings of all negative energies. Wear it while engaged in artistic endeavors to help promote creativity. A stone of protection, Citrine will stabilize and calm, allowing you to bring forth your best and clearest visions for all of your endeavors.

Often worn by healers in abundance, Citrine focuses energy. Encouraging the person to be healed to hold a Citrine as well as placing one or more on the area of the body needing healing, will enhance the healing process and is especially helpful for ailments of the digestion and circulatory system. Citrine helps with headaches, insomnia, urinary issues, diabetes, pain relief, circulatory system issues, tissue regeneration, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, immune system deficiencies, kidney and liver issues. Also said to help in removing toxins, Citrine is indispensable for overcoming addictions.

As it is a crystal quartz, it will amplify the energies of any other stones used with it. Pair it with amethyst for increased power and positivity.

Chakra: Crown, Solar Plexus, Third Eye. Sacral
Astrological: Gemini, Aires, Leo, Libra
Planet: Jupiter, Mercury
Physical: Heart, Digestion, Detoxification
Color: yellow to orange, caramel, amber, clear

How To Cleanse & Charge Your Crystals

Cleansing and Charging Your Crystals

Crystal energy  can be used for emotional, physical, and spiritual healing by balancing and stimulating positive energy in the mind/body.  Crystals  pull positive energies to you, and the more you use them, the more of a bond you form.  Oddly, this same frequent use of your crystals can weaken their energy and effectiveness. To prevent this from happening,  charge your crystals regularly.  The process is an easy one, but I suggest you wait for the Full Moon and for a time when you can be  calm and relaxed to more easily direct your most positive energies.

All of the Crystals you receive from Simple Earth Creations will be cleansed and charged before they begin their journey to you.   When you receive your crystals, you will do your part.  First, make sure the crystals remain clean and free of earth and dirt.  Should they be soiled, simply rub them down with a soft organic cloth.  As a last resort you may use a soft bristle brush, as you want to disturb them as little as possible.   Once this is done, you are ready to cleanse your crystals.  Cleansing is the first step in readying  your crystals to accept your best energies and intentions.
Choose the crystals that you want to work with based on the outcome that you are looking for.   Clear Quartz Crystal absorbs negativity and allows you to instill a most positive and energetic atmosphere in yourself and your sacred space.  Clear Quartz Crystals can take the place of other crystals that are unavailable to you at any given time.  Clear Quartz and Rose Quartz Crystal are among the easiest to start out with.  Rose Quartz is excellent for enhancing your intentions and filling your space with love and positivity. Amethyst also easily accepts positive energy and will ease stress and instill calmness in yourself and all around you.
On the evening of the Full Moon, cleanse each crystal by running cool water over it as you hold it in your hand.  Place them in an earthen or glass bowl and cover with well water or purified water.  Gently mix in a small amount of natural sea salt.  Now place the bowl of water and crystals on the ground under the moonlight, preferably a Full Moon.  Let it remain there for at least 24 hours, and even better, from one Full Moon to the next .   Take care to either end the cleansing at this Full Moon or in the Waxing-to-Full Moon phase of the next.  I do not advise ending cleansing in any other moon phase other than the Waxing or Full Moon.  When your crystals have absorbed the Full Moon energy,  rinse them under cool running water, being sure to gently handle them as you do.  When a connection is made, you will “feel” that  the cleansing process has been completed.   When you have reached that stage, allow your crystals to air dry.
After cleansing, you may want to charge your crystal with a specific power.  Charging crystals is an essential part of working with them as tools.   Again, crystals are charged with your personal energy during the Full Moon.  Before charging your crystal, carry it around in your pocket or wear it around your neck for a few days, being sure not to carry it with metallic or magnetic objects, such as your keys or phone.  Keeping the crystal close to you helps strengthen the bond between your crystal and your own personal energy.
Charging your crystals during the Waxing or Full Moon will ready them to aid you in a fresh start and in seeking out your desires .  Charging your crystal under the waxing moon aids in positivity and in the intention of gaining something that you want or need.
Working in the waning or new moon is a bit more tricky,  as some may use this in a negative manner.  But as you gain more experience, charging under a waning or new moon could help you to achieve a lessening effect on something, such as debts or illness.   Until you gain more knowledge, it is best to work in the Waxing to Full Moon with all of your crystals.

As important as cleansing is imparting them with your intent for their work, using the elements of air, fire, water, and earth.   Charging your crystals with a specific energy is a moving and  powerful experience.  Find a  place of peace and quiet within your home and space.  Sit still and relax,  concentrating on your intent and focusing your energies.   Decide what you wish to impart to your crystals.

Unwanted feelings may surface when working with crystals.  That's OK.  You may choose to protect yourself with meditation or a prayer of your choosing.  Ask for guidance, allowing all your  feelings to flow, acknowledging them and creating an aura of pure love.
Picking up a single stone in your dominant or projective hand, visualize your intent and what you would like to gain from your crystals.  Relax.  Direct these energies into the stone that you are holding.   Try to actually visualize  the energy going out from your body and into the stone.  You might try seeing it as a line of light flowing from you  to the stone.  As you charge the crystal, visualize it glowing with the light of your energy.   When the stone has received your energy and intent, you will feel it within the crystal, and as with the cleansing, and you will then know that the process has been completed.   When you have finished charging the stones, wrap them individually in a soft, unbleached organic cloth such as a natural cotton or silk.  Thank the spirits for the guidance they have provided you.

Some may choose to perform a more elaborate charging ritual.  The basics are the same, the feelings are the same, only the tools are different.  To do this you will need an incense stick,  natural essential oil such as sandalwood, amber, lavender or frankinsence,  a red candle,  well-or-purified water, a small earthen bowl or other natural receptacle,  and a small plot of soil such as in a flower pot.   Light a stick of incense and  the red candle to represent the elements, air and fire.  Pass the crystal through the smoke to charge with the energies of  air.  Pass the crystal through the candle flame to charge with fire energy.  Sprinkle purified water from the bowl onto the stone, charging it with the energy of water.  Place the crystal in the soil and visualize the earth's energy charging your crystal.  Finally, rub the essential oil over the stone to charge it with your very own energy.  Give thanks to the elements and to Mother Earth for aiding you in  your endeavor.  Again, wrap your crystal in a small piece of organic silk or cotton.
Always keep your crystals clean by polishing gently with a soft cloth,  and keep the energy pure by wrapping them or keeping them in a soft organic cotton or silk bag.  This will keep impurities from changing or weakening the energy and  intentions you have placed within your crystal.  Keep it with you, in your pocket, wear it around your neck, or simply hold it in your hand to guide you clearly and purely in all your endeavors.  You may choose to gently rub essential oil of lavender onto your crystal to aid in calming and soothing.  Have fun and experiment with essential oils for their metaphysical and healing properties.

New Crystal Point Hempy Necklace

I made this Pink Hemp Wrapped Clear Quartz Crystal Point Necklace just yesterday ...

from of one of these awesome Crystal Points.

So.... now I have a bunch of these really pretty Amethyst Crystal Clusters
that are attached to the Matrix.

Some of the matrices are absolutely gorgeous, but some are just plain, and truth be told, a little bit less than attractive. The amethyst crystals though, are all stunning, so I'm thinking of Hemp Wrapping some of the smaller Amethyst Clusters, but I don't want to do an all over open wrap like the one pictured above on the Clear Quartz Crystal, due to the backing being a little less than attractive.

So, question is, who has a great idea on how to Hemp Wrap a Crystal Cluster, enclosing the back and still leaving the Amethyst Points in the front exposed for their timeless beauty?  I have tried some designs but so far not satisfied with the outcome.

You know I just LOVE New Ideas!

And I'd LOVE to hear yours.

Thanks so much,
Peace,
jo
